I don't care if the Deem and Pass rule has been used in the past; it's just wrong. It's politicians hiding behind a technicality so that they don't have to go on record as voting for or against a bill that may be unpopular with their constituent. These people are cowards. They are theives and criminals. They plot and scheme together in the middle of the night, behind closed doors, in smoke-filled rooms to find a way to fleece the hard working American citizen out of his hard-earned money. They want to grab more power. They want you, the American taxpayer, to be dependant on them.
Call your Congressman today. Tell them that Deem and Pass should not be used to pass the Health Care Bill. Thell them if they do, then they won't be sitting in Congress in the next session and they will become an American Taxpayer that has to live under the laws they pass. Do it today!

Not Much New
I watched a portion of the State of the Union Address last night. I have to say I missed the first hour of his empty speech by being at choir practice for church; but, I did catch up shorthly after he left the podium. I must say that it appears that nothing is changed. He did not move to the right as many had expected. Instead, Obama is still wanting to push healthcare reform and Cap and Trade legislation. These two pieces of taxation and power grabbing legislation will be the death nail of the economy if passed.
He is still trying to blame the previous administration for his economic problems. I wonder how long that will continue. It seems he fails to realize that the Dems were in charge of Congress for the last four years of the Bush Administration and Congress is the one that holds and controls the purse strings of the country, not the President.
So, he wants to put on an spending freeze. While this is a good idea, it's not going to happen until next year; a little late and not nearly strong enough. He proposes to reduce spending by some $15B. Sorry, but this amount is less than 1 percent of the total defict! This is not enough! Congress and the people of the United States will have to make some major sacrifices to reduce the deficit and the total debt. If the hard choices are not made, then the economy of this country will go right down the toilet.
So Mr. President. Here is what you need to do right now.
1) Freeze spending now, except for the military and other necessary expenditures. Do not spend any more money on economic stimulus. This includes the high-speed rail projects. Federal spending on make work projects like these is just not enough. The jobs they create are short term and very localized. We need longer lasting wide spread stimulus.
2) Offload your loss leader programs such as AMTRAK, the US Postal Service, etc. They can try and make a profit in the private sector.
3) Make an immediate across the board 10 percent cut in the federal budget for this year. Cut another 10 percent in 2011. Cut another 5 percent in 2012. This includes all programs and federal workers (sorry SEIU). Cut your salary and that of Congress. You guys need to understand what it means to average citizen whose salary is cut during hard economic times.
4) Create low intrest loans for small buisnesses. Provide tax cuts to the small business enterpise. Create an atmosphere of expansion so small businesses can grow and hire more people.
5) Create a tax holiday for all the US citizens. One month of no taxation would put a big chunk of money in the hands of the consumer which would be passed into the economy and help stimulate retail sales.
You wanted to be a great 1 term president; a President that leads the Country back from the brink of depression. This is the way. Do it and you may succeed; otherwise, you will wind up being a 1 term mediocre president.
